Funicular – Rifugio Resciesa – Church – Peak
From the uphill station of the funicular that brings to Resciesa from Ortisei you reach the Rifugio Resciesa in 30 minutes walk. The first 100 meters are uphill, then the trail is flat and the views on the surroinding mounatins of the Dolomites are majestic. After stopping at our Rifugio a 10 minutes walk takes you to a little church and from there in another 15 minutes you reach the peak of Resciesa and it cross. The views from here are great and many come to view the sunrise or sunset. Just a few minutes downhill and you are back at Rifugio Resciesa.
This route can be done also in the winter on foot or with snowshoes.
Walking to or from Ortisei
The dirt road that brings from Ortisei to resciesa is never particularly steep and departs in the neighbourhood called Martin. It takes a couple of hours to go uphill and approximatly 90 minutes to descend. There are countless alternatives and smaller trails, like the one starting from Solaria, in Ortisei.
In the winter the road transforms into a fabulous sledge slope.
St. Pietro and Laion
From the little church on the red itinerary a steep path takes you to the Tschanialm. From there a dirt road among green forests takes to St. Pietro and Laion via the Ramitzlerschwaige hut. This is a longer route for which you should give yourself at least 4 hours.
Walking to Brogles
From the Rifugio Resciesa a nice, panoramic trail along the ridge of the Resciesa mountain takes to the Brogles Hut in approx. 2 – 3 hours.
This route is also possible on mountain bikes, snowshoes or alpine skis in the winter.
